Form Mastery is a gameplay mechanic that allows players to strengthen their Transformation Skills, leading to reductions in Transformation Strain and increases in their Form Multipliers or decreases in their Stamina/Ki consumption rate.
Overview
The mechanic of Form Mastery can be divided into two categories: Form Control and DCBAS Upgrades; wherein Form Control involves raising the Mastery Level of a form in order to reduce or negate Transformation Strain, and DCBAS Upgrades can be subdivided into the training of seven different stat buffs that increase the damage/defense/resource efficiency of the form.
Forms have three types of classifications in regards to Mastery, referred to as Mastery Levels:
- Unmastered, referring to a form that has not yet reached 4-star Mastery. DCBAS Upgrades cannot be leveled during this stage.
- Controlled, referring to a form that has acheived 4-star Mastery and is no longer subject to Transformation Strain (barring extrainiating circumstances such as stacking Kaioken). DCBAS Upgrades can be leveled during this stage.
- Mastered, referring to a form with one or more DCBAS Upgrades that has been leveled to its maximum before Limit Breaking occurs.
- Note that while it only takes one maxed-out upgrade for the form to be labelled as Mastered, visual changes to certain forms do not apply until all upgrades have been leveled to the maximum (i.e. Super Saiyan 4 will not unlock its Mastered aura if the player has maxed only one upgrade — they must max out all seven).

Form Control
Form Control, interchangably referred to as Form Mastery, pertains to a player's ability to remain in a transformed state before their Transformation Strain Bar is depleted and they revert to base form. Form Control is comprised of five tiers:
| Mastery Level | Mastery Effect | |
|---|---|---|
| Unmastered | No effect | |
| Tier 1 | 25% drain reduction | |
| Tier 2 | 50% drain reduction | |
| Tier 3 | 75% drain reduction | |
| Controlled | No drainage | |
By default, all forms unlocked by the player are Unmastered, requiring they be controlled either manually or through the use of Mastery Points (one Point for each tier, requiring just 4 Mastery Points to control a form). Control is manually acquired through maintaining the transformation or hitting an alive entity with melee attacks while in form, indifferent to whether the hits come from basic M1 strings or supers but scaling down correlating to a reduced Damage Output Multiplier.
Tips
- As Mastery Points are so easy to obtain, manually increasing the Mastery Level of a form is a gigantic waste of time as well as being exceptionally boring. Completing Masters to get Mastery Points is far more efficient as you also gain access to new Skills, Fighting Styles, and Skill Points.
